Eclipses and dictators, Saturn-Jupiter global clashes, myth making and faith during struggle with Jupiter-Neptune, Saturn-Neptune villains, Uranus and Venusian revolutionary art… buckle in kids! We’re learning more astrology and making a rising sign road map for the year ahead.
This is a time in the sky that astrologers have been collectively looking forward to since 2019 – the June 9th movement of Jupiter into Cancer. This brings the opportunity to start things that are made for collective care It can bring inclusive protections back into the spotlight. The profaning of human rights and the spilled soups of legitimate structures now show themselves. The specter of Pluto in Aquarius sends its power charge to tell us what it really is. There is a horror here that we must confront. Care Bear Stare style. All of us. Each in our own lives and many of us for the collective. The right to belong grows more teeth. But who gets to define belonging? Whose narratives are held on high? Solidarity needs an action plan and the skies support that.
June 13-15 is quite a big deal. We’ve been trying to see the shape of the world ahead of us and this month is the crux of what gets to define it going forward. We have tangible reasons to feel amplified and real lines that needs defending. The defense of inclusive care spreads in earnest.
In the wider cycles of world events, we always pay attention to Jupiter’s hard aspects to Saturn. These giants are world-builders when they act together. But they also oversee big changes in the world. Saturn is the foundation of systems and all things infrastructure related. Jupiter is the “why” and “what for” put forth by groups of people with resources.
After June 9th, Saturn has an overcoming square (a challenging aspect) with Jupiter that ramps up the intensity and speaks to the sheer number of notable world events and stresses. This process takes at least a year. The good news is that we already experienced the first two squares, first in August of 2024, and then again in December of 2024. We are well past the halfway mark. For these first two dates, we saw the weakness of the majority response described – the scattered narratives, the centers that don’t hold, the multiple worlds we still need to plan for, spreading our efforts thin. Now they show us this same friction but in a context that has shifted. Saturn has fallen in status and Jupiter is getting his act together. The bar is finally being raised. The theme shifts and we go head first into something new. The fall of Saturn brings a continual harshness to reality as we know it. But this time around the unity grows. The protective and necessary response is finally capable of coming into being.
We pay attention to Jupiter’s hard aspect to Neptune this month especially, which tests the limits of any lingering groundless optimism. At the starting conjunction of Jupiter and Neptune (an agreement between two planets) back in April of 2022, we aptly had the word “hopium” noted by Astrologer Leisa Schaim. Pandemic protections were abandoned despite evidence of covid19’s massive long term impacts to literal hearts and minds. We were lured us away from conversations about abolition and defunding the police. Markets changed. Momentum became confused. Now we wrestle with the shape of the world that arises in this aftermath. Mad rights, disability rights, healthcare, and the general states of cognition enter the chat this month. What does care mean to you now? What should it mean? What must it mean?
And the big talk of the town is Saturn’s conjunction with Neptune in the midst of all this. We wade through a specific sort of dissolution. What happens when structural weaknesses in our Saturnian bureaucracies are profaned and exploited at their weak points. Neptune-Saturn can cause whole systems to dissolve, prompting the question: When you see active profaning of ideals that are sacred to you, how do you respond? Jupiter asks: what world are you building through the power of your response?
The Saturn Neptune conjunction in Aries is the defining shape of early 2026. The bludgeoning that we avoid through stimulus in August of 2025, we experience with more consequence in February 2026. The idea of rebuilding stays strong, with many people doing things on their own, or setting out to do an unwieldy reinvention of the wheel; solo starts over and over instead of having structural support.
Any of those three things (Jupiter square Saturn, Jupiter square Neptune, Saturn conjunct Neptune) would get our attention on their own. But they’re happening together, along with big outer planetary shifts beyond that. The backdrop that we started with in 2025 becomes completely unrecognizable by the end of 2026.
Rising Sign Deep Dives
What if you could spend just a single afternoon or evening and gain a solid understanding of how 2025-2026 means to deliver its stories to you??
For the next two months every Saturday and Friday I’ll be teaching a workshop for each of the 12 rising signs. This is not a generalized horoscope. This is a new way to make sense of your day to day experiences from 2025-2026.
Whether you’re fasting for Gaza like one of our OG 80 Nights with Venus guest speakers @rayfastsforgaza (please give Ray more visibility if you can!) or you’re trying to make sense of your plans in the midst of job loss, or you’re a grandparent fostering your grandchildren.. we are in this spilled soup together. Even if we’re coming from very different places, each of us who share a rising sign are a part of a whole archetype and will absolutely encounter similar supports and blockages as one another.
That’s why we’re exploring the entire Jupiter through Cancer period. We’re chunking June 2025 – July 2026 into significant moments one sign at a time – tempering hopes, dashing fears, and attending to each other along the way. The July 2026 date is not arbitrary. This is the length of time that the Jupiter Saturn square takes to make our new systems known and evident. It’s barely any time in the scheme of things, but having our bearings through it is priceless.
I hope you’ll come listen in!
This is primarily a deep dive on SIGNS. Beginners are absolutely welcome, but know that this is a whole rich meal. We’re digging into the fundamental nature of every single rising sign and how it is positioned to meet this moment we’re in.
How do the Aries and Cancer houses contribute to the specific archetypal construction of your rising sign in general? Why are we like this? Let’s synthesize these transits and see which parts of your life they’re specifically activating.
We can see many more potentials through the lens of a rising sign than through the general skies. But remember that your chart will narrow this down so much more. Your actual birth chart makes a massive difference in specificity.
Still, astrology can be translated in some concrete ways, since the foundational mechanics are so expressive and specific themselves. As a divinatory system, it is exquisitely articulate. When we look at it from the perspective of a particular sign, we can really get oriented.
The signs give us the map upon which all other symbols, slow moving outer planets and asteroids come to interact. They deserve their own attention. Astrology breaks all things down into seven primary clusters of meaning making by planet. The signs are a further division, a way to talk about the spectrum inside five of those archetypes.
